Dr. Almir Azabagić

Dr. Almir Azabagić

Family medicine and nutrition physician
Owner of "Salus" Practice, Tuzla

Dr. Almir Azabagić was born in Tuzla, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and built a long career in family medicine, public health and nutrition. Following additional training in the Netherlands, Osijek and at the University of Melbourne, he focused on modern approaches to prevention and health promotion.

He has worked in primary care centres, emergency services, the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, and today he runs the private family medicine practice "Salus" in Tuzla. He is one of the founders of the Tuzla Canton Medical Chamber and actively participates in its committees, while continuously promoting healthier lifestyle habits.

Dr. Alen Karić

Alen Karić, MD, PhD

Senior Consultant (Primarius)

Dr. Alen Karić is an experienced cardiovascular surgeon with over 20 years of clinical work in cardiac, vascular and general surgery. He built his education and specialist career at the University Clinical Centre Tuzla, and later as a consultant and cardiac surgeon at the Clinical Centre of the University of Sarajevo.

He developed special expertise at leading European centres, including Lyon, Ljubljana, Vienna and Zurich. His practice focuses on complex procedures such as off-pump and on-pump CABG, valve replacement and reconstruction, the Bentall procedure, aortic arch reconstruction, endovascular procedures and surgery for peripheral arterial disease. He chairs the Cardiac Surgery Working Group of the Association of Cardiologists of Bosnia & Herzegovina and serves as national coordinator in working groups of the European Society of Cardiology.

Dr. Amina Osmanagić

Vascular Medicine Subspecialist

Dr. Amina Osmanagić graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo in 2005. She completed her specialization in internal medicine in 2014 and passed her angiology subspecialty exam in April 2025. She gained her first professional experience at the international pharmaceutical company Sanofi Aventis, after which she worked as a junior physician at the Vascular Diseases Clinic of UCC Sarajevo.

She has gained extensive clinical experience at the Clinic for Heart, Vascular and Rheumatic Diseases of UCC Sarajevo, in the Department of Angiology, where she works as an angiology subspecialist. She actively participates in student education as a clinical associate at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo. She has a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases, with a focus on individualized care and modern diagnostic methods.

Dr. Vladimir Đurić

Internal Medicine Specialist – Cardiologist
Consultant for Electrophysiology and Cardiac Rhythm Disorders

Dr. Vladimir Đurić is a cardiology specialist with a particular focus on cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmias and cardiac pacing.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade in 2012. He completed his specialization in internal medicine in 2018 and his subspecialization in cardiology in 2022.

He holds the prestigious EHRA CIED certification of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA/ESC) in the field of cardiac implantable electronic devices (pacemakers, ICD and CRT devices). He is a recipient of the EHRA Fellowship for additional European training in cardiac pacing and electrophysiology.

He has trained through international EHRA programmes in electrophysiology, atrial fibrillation ablation and modern cardiac pacing methods, including training at the University Clinic Graz.

At the Dr. Mačkić clinic, as a consultant he takes part in:

  • diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders
  • analysis of Holter ECG findings
  • assessment of patients with atrial fibrillation
  • indications for electrophysiological studies and ablations
  • follow-up of patients with pacemakers, ICD and CRT devices

Dr. Đurić is the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Young Community of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) within the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
